What you are looking at
From the front walk, the roof is a stack of shapes. A cone-shaped roof caps the corner turret on the left. A dormer with a small scalloped gable sits in the middle, and a steep front gable with white fish-scale trim rises on the right.
The shingle is Atlas Pinnacle Pristine in Black Shadow. Bundle wrappers in the job file, photographed on the dock roof in early August, read Atlas Pinnacle Pristine, and Pinnacle's project record names the color. Up close the shingles are a dark charcoal with lighter gray flecks.
The driveway photos show the garage roof, a wide hip with sloping faces that meet at ridges instead of gable ends. Each hip is finished with cap shingles, narrow pieces folded over the joint. The same caps climb the turret, covering the seams where the slopes meet.
On the side wing, a dark strip runs along the eave between the shingles and the white fascia. Fascia is the trim board at the roof edge. Low black roof vents sit just below the ridge, with shingle courses run up to them, and a black pipe vent rises through the shingles near the eave.
Clipped hedges and sago palms frame the lot. The finish-day photos were taken in mid-August, with tall summer clouds behind the turret.
The job file also holds early August photos of a small roof over the boat dock, from tear-off to new underlayment and shingles, and the wrappers were photographed there. Those frames are not in this set, which shows the front, the garage and one side of the house.
