What you are looking at
The first photo is a drone shot straight down on the finished roof. From that height it reads as a mid gray, a mix of light silver, slate and charcoal tabs. Hip and valley lines cross it in several places, and the planes facing away from the sun look darker than the ones that catch it.
A second drone angle looks across the roof from another side. Black box vents sit in groups on the upper slopes. A box vent is a low metal hood over a cut in the deck that lets hot attic air out. Small round pipe vents come up through the lower slopes.
The close drone frames show the cap shingles, the lighter bands along each hip and ridge. The valleys read as darker lines where two slopes meet and carry water down to the eave. In the closest frame, four box vents are in view.
Two frames were taken from the roof itself. One looks along a ridge to a box vent, with a small shed and a stand of oaks behind it. The other looks over the back corner to a wood fence and a lawn. Up close the shingles are a patchwork of light gray, slate and charcoal.
The job file also holds in-progress frames from early October: old shingles stripped to the plywood deck, gray synthetic underlayment, a vent set in roofing cement, and rotted wood at a roof edge cut out. Those are not in this set. A bundle wrapper in one of them reads Atlas Pinnacle Pristine, which is why the line is named here. The color name was not legible, so the color is described as it looks.
Every vent is a hole through the deck, so the flashing and sealant around it matter as much as the shingles.
