What you are looking at
From up on the roof in the evening light, the new shingles read as a light gray. Up close the granules mix silver and charcoal. The roof is built from hips, where two slopes tip toward each other and run down to a corner, plus a front-facing gable over the wing. A white pipe vent stands up through the main slope.
The earlier frames in the job file show how the work started. At the start, pallets of shingle bundles sat beside the house, with the color printed on the wrapper as Oyster Shell. A ridge vent box rode on top. Later frames show the old dark shingles stripped off, then gray synthetic underlayment over the deck.
Under the cap shingles runs a ridge vent, a low channel that lets hot attic air out at the peak. Its black edge shows as a thin dark line along both sides of the caps. In the fourth photo the caps step down where a hip meets the main slope.
A lower, flat section with a light surface runs along the back, next to the shingled slopes. The frames in this set do not show it being re-roofed, so this page does not count it as part of the work.
The edge shot looks across the last course of shingles to the eave. The tabs sit just above a white edge strip and a white gutter, with a second gutter on the lower roof below.
The house is painted block in a pale aqua, with a gray gable above two windows, a screened porch at the front door and a curved walk across the lawn. In Central Florida's heat, venting attic air at the ridge matters.
