What you are looking at
The first photo looks along the main ridge from one end. Both slopes fall away toward white vinyl privacy fences, and past the far end, palms rise over the neighbors' screened porches with a glimpse of pond.
Shadow Grey is a cool gray blend. In bright September sun the back slope reads as an even mid gray, but up close the tabs mix charcoal, ash and a few with a faint tan cast.
The main ridge carries cap shingles over a ridge vent. In the close view, its black mesh edge runs beside the caps, where warm attic air can escape at the top of the house. Plumbing vent pipes come up through both slopes.
At each hip, where two slopes meet, cap shingles fold over the joint and lap down toward the eave. One frame follows a hip to the back corner above the fence. Another shows a lower roof section tucked against a white wall.
Earlier photos in the job file show the layer beneath. Underlayment is the water-resistant sheet laid over the roof deck before shingling; here it is TAMKO, held with red plastic caps, with white metal drip edge at the eaves. The bundles in the driveway read Titan XT, Shadow Grey and Class 3 impact rated.
The front gable wears pale gray scalloped siding and a half-round louvered vent, with new shingles on the lower roof over the garage. Near the coast, wind-driven rain tests edges and joints first, so the hips, ridge and eaves are where careful work counts.
